Growing up in an art gallery with an artist for a father and a mother with a passion for interior design, Gel has been exposed to the arts for as long as she can remember. Gel and her mother managed an art gallery and a home design construction business, where she started her art career creating large-scale flower murals, paintings, and bringing an artistic voice in the spaces they built.
Eventually, she found her own life path in Baltimore, where she discovered her independent point of view. Inspired by the city’s love for water, Gel experimented with watercolor and fell in love with it.
In 2012, Gel joined RAW, an independent indie art organization and showcased her new works for the first time in July 2012. On November 2012, she won RAW Baltimore’s Visual Artist of the Year award and represented the city in the national competition. In December 2012, Gel won the national title of RAW Visual Artist of the Year.
“One of the best parts of life is finding something within yourself to love. You show up for work every day eager to create, eager to find out what you come up with next.”
